Customer Service Assistant

£24,500 PA
Thirsk, UK (hybrid position)​
We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team and work closely with the Customer Experience Manager to deliver excellent customer service across all our channels.
You will be required to reply to incoming enquiries on a daily basis and liase with team members to adminastrate requests promptly. You will assist the CEM with all aspects of the customer journey to ensure a fantastic experience for our #ratracers. You will also be repsonsible for our 3rd party charity admin liaison to ensure the deliverables of the partnership are met in a timely manner and our customers are informed at all times if they are a charity runner. You will also head up our volunteer/temporary staff recruitment process online, ensuring we have a full rosta of volunteers for each UK mass event and all associated administration around their pre and post event communications. You will be required to assist with the on the day adminstration at events of volunteers, so a cheerful and people-person demeanour is essential.
The ideal candidate will be located within a commutable distance of Thirsk, North Yorkshire with 2 days required in the office per week as standard. During event weeks this may increase as we pack and prep to depart for site. Full training will be given in all aspects of this role by the existing event team.
This role requires event attendance at multiple events throughout the year in the UK and in 2025 you will be required to attend as a minimum:

Role Requirements
• You must be willing and able to attend Rat Race’s Thirsk HQ 2 days per week.
• You will be required to attend our key UK mass participation events.
• Excellent administration skills essential and the ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects necessary.
• Previous customer facing role experience preferred.
• Driving License essential and non-negotiable.
• Excellent grasp of spoken and written English.
• Proficiency with basic IT packages such as Microsoft word and excel. Ability to work with spreadsheets is essential.
• A keen interest in and willingness to travel.

Customer Experience Manager

Thirsk, UK (hybrid position)
We are looking for a Customer Experience Manager to join our team and oversee and adminstrate our customer facing channels and event touchpoints. You will have oversight of our core customer service channels and work to deliver and enhance an excellent customer journey for our event participants from the moment they sign up to an adventure.

You will work with the Customer Service Assistant and wider Event Team to ensure information is delivered in an accurate, prompt and informative manner in our pre-event customer communications and incoming email enquries inbox.
You will handle all pre-event administration work which includes but is not limited to: ordering customer event materials (race numbers, t-shirts, bag tags etc), creating and sending pre-event EEI documents to customers, preparing all pre-event customer documentation for on-site Registration and running Registration and Finish line locations at UK mass participation events. You will also be required to liaise with 3rd party contractors who support the events with services they provide our customers and ensure they are fully informed of their deliverables and maintain live records of event equipment relevant to Registration in our warehouse.
